
You can become a Literacy Volunteer:
You will receive intensive tutor training through a series of workshops that will prepare you to teach one-on-one or in small groups. After completing the 18 hour training workshop, you will be matched with an adult student and work together for a minimum of 2 hours per week. You and your student decide where and when to meet. You will receive ongoing support and guidance as you need it. You must be 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.

Use Your Shaw's Card and Help Support LVKC
Register your card online with Shaw’s and by using your Shaw’s Supermarket card on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays, you can help raise cash for LVKC! 1% of the amount you spend will help support LVKC programs. Go online to Shaw’s website at www.shaws.com, then click on Shaws cares to register the Shaw’s card number found on the back of your card. Add LVKC as an organization you would like Shaw’s to contribute to when you make purchases. You must use our account number which is 49001018151. You can give back to LVKC one shopping cart at a time.
For Students:
You must be 18 or older and registered with LVKC, complete intake paperwork and an assessment. Beginning ESL students have the opportunity to enroll in Start Here!, a small group ESL conversation class, while awaiting a tutor. The student must be able to meet at least 2 hours a week and complete homework assignments.
