For the last 30 years, LVKC (Literacy Volunteers of Kent County), in partnership with the Coventry Public Library, has helped Adult Basic Reading and ESL learners improve their literacy skills through one-on-one volunteer tutoring.
LVKC is administered by a volunteer Board of Directors whose members are assigned various tasks necessary to maintain the ongoing efforts of LVKC. The Coventry Public Library supplies in-kind contributions such as space, telephone, visual equipment and staff time.
The main expenses of the literacy program are operational, training, resource materials, and public relations costs, which includes printing and postage.
