    VALENTINE’S DAY

    Warm greetings.  Opening song.

    Intro:  What special day is today?  It’s Valentine’s Day!  What do we do on Valentine’s Day?  We send cards, flowers, or candy to people.  Why?  To show them how much we care for them and how special they are!  Did any of you get a Valentine today?

     

    Read:  Click, Clack, Moo I Love You by Doreen Cronin

    Fingerplay:  Two little cupids

     

    Read:  Froggy’s First Kiss by jonathan London

    Fingerplay:  I part my hands together, this is how I start;  I curve my fingers right around and I can make a heart!

    Feltboard:  There is a shape and it means love, and heart is its name-o.

    H-E-A-R-T, H-E-A-R-T, H-E-A-Rt, and heart is its name-o!

     

    Read:  Snowy Valentine by David Petersen

    Activity:  Pass the beanbag: if you have the beanbag when the music stops, you get “hugged” (a heart sticker on your hand).  Continue until all the children have a heart.
