JOB OPENING: Greene Branch Part-time Youth Services Programming Assistant

Coventry Public Library’s Greene Branch is seeking a Part-time Youth Services Programming Assistant. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing craft programs and other youth programs as well as assisting patrons with their informational and reader’s advisory needs; providing instruction and assistance to patrons in the use of library technology; preparing craft or promotional materials for programming or for display areas; assisting with circulation desk duties, and maintaining the proper order of books and other materials in place throughout the library.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience working with children and knowledge of computer technology is necessary; experience with Koha or other ILS preferred. Qualified individuals will be experienced in customer service and working with the public. Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be willing to work on a team as well as independently. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Hours & Compensation: Part-time position. Tuesdays and Thursdays 2-6 p.m., Wednesdays 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Other hours may be added to cover vacations or special programs. $21.00/hour.
